Trisparsha Ekadashi Vrat Katha
According to the Padma Purana, Lord Shiva was asked by Devarshi Naradji, “Sarveshwar!” You describe the Trisprisha fast, by which people are liberated from the bonds of karma.
Mahadevji said: Scholar! Devadhidev God designed this fast for the purpose of attaining redemption; hence, it is known as Vaishnavi Tithi. Upon being asked about Gangaji’s salvation, Lord Madhav said that when Ekadashi, Dwadashi, and Trayodashi occur in the last hour of the night on the same day, it should be deemed Trisprisha. This date provides religion, purpose, work, and salvation and is more significant than one hundred billion pilgrimages. On this day, both God and Sadguru should be honored.
One Trisprisha Ekadashi fast is equivalent to one thousand Ekadashi fasts. Whoever awakens in the middle of the night on this Ekadashi assumes the appearance of Lord Vishnu.
This fast removes all sins, eliminates great suffering, and grants all desires. The fasting of this Trisprisha destroys even the most serious sins, such as Brahmahatya. One receives the benefits of a thousand Ashwamedha and one hundred Vajpayee Yagyas. The man who follows this fast, along with his father’s, mother’s, and wife’s families, is honored in Vishnulok. On this day, the Dwadashakshar mantra, Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya, should be said. Those who observe this fast have completed all fasting practices.
